As Koi have become more and more popular over the years more people are starting to keep them they are amazing fish and very relaxing to watch.

If you really enjoy Koi then its a nice thought to have them inside the house with you where you can enjoy them all the time.

Some people like to keep Koi indoors because there are too many wild animals outside or because they have a very small garden.

But the thing is that Koi can grow quite big and because of this they need more space. It is not fair to keep them couped up in a small Koi aquarium because in the wild they have lots of space to swim around. This is why you will need a large enough tank to keep them indoors.

Keeping Koi in a Koi aquarium is not a good thing to do for a couple of reasons.

So the first reason that you may already know about is that Koi can thrash about sometimes so this is not going to be good if they are in an aquarium.

The next reason is that Koi are usually kept with other Koi but obviously if they are in an aquarium there is a limit to how many you can keep. As a guide you don't want more than two Koi per 100 to 150 gallon aquarium.

Thirdly it may interest you to know that in the outdoors Koi can often times try to leap out of the water so obviously if your Koi is in a Koi aquarium then its not going to be able to do this so you will need a very good lid.

But if you do decide to buy a Koi aquarium and keep your Koi indoors just remember that each individual Koi will need around 150 gallons of space each.

When it comes to price from my knowledge of Koi aquarium you could expect to pay around $1-$2 per gallon for a second hand aquarium and around $2-$3 for a new tank.

In my opinion it's not the best idea to keep Koi in an aquarium, it's a much better idea to buy goldfish or tropical fish.
